Nestled in the heart of Johns Island, The Royal Tern is a family restaurant and neighborhood eatery. Chef David Pell provides guests with an array of freshly prepared seafood and steaks as well as seafood towers, carpaccios and pokes from our raw bar.

Thank you for your interest in The Royal Tern. We are open for dinner service Monday thru Saturday, 5pm until 10pm. Our bar opens at 4pm and offers the full raw bar menu. We are closed on Sunday. Reservations can be made online thru Resy or you may call the restaurant. A hostess will return your call after 3pm to inform you of availability.

Reservations are available for the dining room, bar booths and tables on the screened porch. If a reservation is booked on the screened porch, please know that it is not air conditioned. Although a reservation may not be available online, we encourage guests to visit The Royal Tern without one. The bar, hi-tops and counter on the screened porch are all available on a first come-first served basis.

To ensure our guests receive the highest quality food and service, we do not accept reservations or seat tables of more than eight people, including children.

On-site parking is available for our guests and patrons. Carpooling is highly encouraged.
